2 Samuel 24 encapsulates the entire spectrum of the life of David — sin and weakness, deep faith and love. More importantly than that, this story sums up the Gospel of David\’s descendant and the response of those who wish to reign with him.
What do you do to move on after you face the consequences of your sins? The last days of David give us hope and direction.
We are rightly horrified as we watch David\’s great sin against Bathsheba in 2 Samuel 11. We would do well to pay careful attention to this story so that we can avoid similar falls ourselves.
When God sent his prophets to sinful man, he promised wrath for those who continue in rebellion. If we forget the reality that our God is indeed full of wrath against sin, we will be destroyed.
YHWH is a different sort of God. He cares for those that the rest of the world ignores or abuses. He is the God of Justice.
The book of Hebrews exhorts us to be loyal to Jesus over all because Jesus is better than all.
